Live and Broadcasting to the Glorious Interweb

by

It’s the first day of the site and, wouldn’t you know, it’s the day our host is having technical difficulties. Apologies to anyone who’s been having trouble accessing the site–you’re not the only one. In more positive news, we’d like to thank the ever-enlightening Warren Ellis for mentioning us on his blog and welcome all the new readers to 365. We’re glad to have you.

For convenience, this site can be syndicated using any Atom or RSS feed reader via the following url: http://www.365tomorrows.com/atom. We have two syndication accounts set up on the popular LiveJournal blogging site. One is 365tomorrowsrss, which gives you all syndicated content that is posted to the website; the other is 365storiesrss, which will feed you stories only–no news items. All you have to do to use these feeds is add them to your friends list on LiveJournal. Do so and you will be regaled with our content in your very own little corner of the Internet.

It’s also about time we mentioned that we do in fact have a store, which is filled with 365 goodies for your purchasing pleasure. Designed with variations on the 365 satellite logo, we’re currently offering T-shirts, tank tops, off-the-shoulder tanks, and jackets. In the coming weeks we’ll have more item types available, so check back often.

Coming soon to 365 will be our forums, where you will be able to discuss the stories, the authors, science fiction, the future, or anything else your little hearts desire. I’m really looking forward to hearing what people have to say.

I’ve Seen Things…

365tomorrows launched August 1st, 2005 with the lofty goal of providing a new story every day for a year. We’ve been on the wire ever since.

Our stories are a mix of those lovingly hand crafted by a talented pool of staff writers, and select stories received by submission.

The archives are deep, feel free to dive in.

What is Flash Fiction?

"Flash fiction is fiction with its teeth bared and its claws extended, lithe and muscular with no extra fat. It pounces in the first paragraph, and if those claws aren’t embedded in the reader by the start of the second, the story began a paragraph too soon. There is no margin for error. Every word must be essential, and if it isn’t essential, it must be eliminated."
